BANDERA AUTONÓMICA DE ARAGÓN

CASTILLO DE LOARRE - ÁBACO DE IMPOSTA EN PUERTA SECUNDARIA. IGLESIA DE SAN PEDRO

INTRODUCTION:

My name is Antonio García Omedes. I was born in 1951 in Ainzón; province of Zaragoza (Spain).

I am Surgeon and performance my professional work in the Hospital "San Jorge", of Huesca from 1979.

I have always thought that he would have been happy for having been born in the Renaissance; time while the humanistic development allowed understanding of several disciplines as astrology, alchemy, botany, zoology, architecture, art... without getting to be expert in any of the matters, to have a solid and satisfactory variegated formation

This added to same clear ideas, even could drive you to the bonfire, if the Church were crossed in your way, or otherwise, to develop to a fertile work of knowledge and spreading of the same ones..

In my routes by the "Altoaragón", after trouts, mushrooms, plants, fossils, historical and archaeological routes... I have been face to face with many Romanesque buildings that woke up in me restlessness and desire of knowledge.

San Pedro de Lárrede, the Castle of Loarre, San Caprasio (of Santa Cruz de la Serós) and the Monastery of San Juán de la Peña, were decisive in my interest to understand their historical moment.

In the middle of the 90, computer science -" a devil's invention "- it was crossed in my way; and I began to use it, with generating data bases of my patients.

During my speciality formation in Santander, and by professional reasons, it handled "the descriptive" photography.

It was only a question of time that converged the described liking

The detonating was the gift of my woman, by our silver wedding, of a digital photografic camera (Olympus Camedia 3030Z).

Almost without giving account me, I joined myself with more than 12,000 digital photographs of Romanesque altoaragonés; and the idea arose with force to contribute to disclose its knowledge.

In St Joseph´s day of 2002; after learning of self-taught form and with time and effort to generate elementary pages Web ; I raised the network my first archives... and there I follow.

At the end of 2002 I put musical bottoms to some of the pages. I thank for to webmasters like Enci Carballo facilitating sonorous files MID.

CASTILLO DE LOARRE-ÁBACO DE CAPITEL DE LA IGLESIA DE SAN PEDRO

OBJECTIVES:

I set out the goal to cross most of the altoaragoneses romances monuments; in special most important. To obtain images of such and creating digital documents that allow to any person interested in the subject, an approach to their knowledge through the same ones and of the descriptions of authorities in the matter (published in texts which I mention in the bibliography) which I have used to enrich my descriptions.

Most of described Romanesque monuments are easily accessible with normal vehicle; but some of them make it compulsory to have a 4x4 and an adventure liking.

Finally, another part of them is located "outside the evolution" and if it is tried to accede to such, it is necessary to let the car and go walking, and by footpath or sometimes, it mounts to traverse, to reach them.

The venture is greater, and if it is obtained, also the personal satisfaction.

In some occasion I have not been able to conclude it, by having to me confused in spite of the maps; or by to me not to have accompanied the forces or necessary boldness - that also it is necessary; in right balance with the prudence. -

I continue making "work of field" in my free days, I try that it is a permanent emplacement updated and improved.

Completed the first approach to the Romanesque art of Huesca and Zaragoza; the space is made up more of around 700 pages htm and 10.000 descriptive photographies of about 300 different places.

In November 2002, already the 40,000 consulted pages were surpassed. The visitors come from the five continents, and has registered 49 different countries of origin in the accesses. (See countries of origin by Continents)

SANTIAGO DE AGÜERO-ÁBACO DE CAPITEL DEL ÁBSIDE CENTRAL

STRUCTURE OF THE PAGE:

"The page", that in fact is a great set of many others; I have structured it so that through the left box, it is acceded, beginning by the magnificent CASTLE OF LOARRE, to the location and description of the ROMANESQUE CASTLES OF THE XI C., whose knowledge and situation are useful to understand the conquest and development of the Kingdom of Aragón.

Next, the section ROMANESQUE ROUTES, subdivided in useful sections for its geographic location and visits; partly coincident with the old divisions of the Kingdom: JACETANIA, SOBRARBE, RIBAGORZA, SOMONTANO and the CINCO VILLAS of Zaragoza.

In spite of the similarity of its names they do not agree exactly with the present regions; fruit of recent rearrangement territorial.

A section of INTERACTIVE MAPS, will allow to the location and fast access to each place; with color codes for each studied zone (single the places of the chosen zone will be active - if I have images of such -).

This system allows in addition, to compare architecture of next places and to plan visits of set to such.

Deliberately I do not include the conventional road network, not to overload them.

In the description of each place I indicate how to arrive; and in the page of connections, accesses to maps of the zone.

In the right boxt, in addition to information on the site; complete a DROP-DOWN one in that they appear by alphabetical order all the places including in the same one.

I try that any place to which is desired to accede is not to more than three clicks of the beginning page.

If the study of a place - by the relevance of the same one he is ample, I add in his initial access a drop-down one to accede fast to his different zones from subdivision.

In the headed one of each site, under the title, the orientative location in each zone of the same one, as well as icons that next I transcribe:

Access walking to the described place; or to the last section of the same one

Urban circuit

Accessible place in conventional vehicle

Accessible place in 4x4 vehicle

Place in the way of Santiago, or its surroundings of influence

To pay to visit. Sometimes only if guided visit is requested

Place of spectacular natural surroundings

Ample appointments bibliografícas in the text

Closed place. Necessary to ask for key to accede to the interior

Place with visit schedule. Generally, they close Mondays.

FUTURE PROJECTS:

When it concludes first stage of the work, I try, besides to review it completely to correct typewritting errors, to improve its aspect... etc., to add other useful sections, like the one of "MONOGRAPHIC", in which project to create fast accesses to thematic aspects of the work; for example: Romanesque-gothic paintings murals; churches in ruins; heads with "friso de baquetones"(frieze of rebate moulding), churches with crypt... etc.

It will be for me helpful any commentary, suggestion or indication to improve the work, to my direction from mail:

GRATEFULNESS:

To my family, who knows to support my escapes by the footpaths of Cluny, and my hours wasted with the computer.

To all that one that it has published, in paper or Internet, on Romanesque; to give me foundation to cross routes and to describe my images.

Special mention deserves Jose Luis Aramendía, creator of an extensive one and documented encyclopedical work on the Romanesque Aragonese. Magnificent like way to follow and overwhelming in its content. I honor myself with its friendship and I follow its advice carefully.

To those who with their words of spirit or suggestions have helped me to continue and to enrich the work.

To those people who living outside Spain, they have its roots here and they are touched and me they say it, when seeing photos of the town where the their greater ones were born.

To anyone of they "mosen" (a rural clergymen) that has accompanied to me, in the temples, hermitages and ruins. Its style of life, sometimes exceed the imaginable thing.

To the shepherd of ewes, that in diverse sites she has indicated to me how to arrive at a place, that little people know like him.

To the Director of the Provincial Service of Enviroment of the Government of Aragón (D. Julio Serrano), because of authorizing me circulating around forest roads of restricted use, alleviating to me of very long walks with the photographic material.

To the person who keeps the keys from the temple, taught by they mosen to be afraid of the stranger.

To the General Vicars of the Dioceses of Huesca, Jaca and Barbastro-Monzón; without whose safe-conduct, it had not been able to offer many of the images that I show.

To the Department of Culture Education and Deports of the Provincial Delegation of Huesca; because of authorizing me to take images from the "Frontal of San Vicente", coming from Liesa, and property of the Institution mentioned .

SELLO DEL OBISPADO DE HUESCA

SELLO DEL OBISPADO DE JACA

 SELLO DEL OBISPADO DE BARBASTRO-MONZÓN

 SELLO DEL ARZOBISPADO DE ZARAGOZA

To all of them, thanks.

Friendship.

Antonio.-
